Welcome to the Thank You Gifts Blog Hop hosted by Joyslife.com! If you have arrived here from Jenny's Crazy about Cricut blog then you are on the right track. If not, please start from Joy's blog at joyslife.com and continue the hop from there. Trust me, you don't want to miss any projects (or blog candy) from the talented ladies on this hop.
Just so that you do not miss any of the hop spots (hehe how fast can you say "hop spot"?), here is the list of all the blogs that are participating on this hop. If you should get lost along the way, just refer back to this list and hop on!
If this is the first time that you are visiting my blog, let me give you a BIG welcome. Feel free to look around. You may notice that lately I have not used Cricut cartridges for my projects. That's because I am using graphics and SVGs from Lettering Delights with my Make-the-Cut program. All projects on this blog are cut with my Cricut Expressions machine.
(Note:
Provo Craft/Cricut does not endorse the use of any 3rd party software.
Cutting or communicating to any Cricut machine with any 3rd party or
non-Cricut endorsed software or device will void the warranty of the
Cricut cutting machine. As such, it might be prudent to wait until the
warranty expires on your Cricut machine before attempting any 3rd party
products).
For today's project, I am making a Tree of Treats with Lettering Delights' latest SVG template, the Pyramid Box.
I am using the first 2 templates of this set in today's project.
First I cut out the boxes in 4 different sizes.
Next, I score and fold them.
I prepare the flaps for sealing later by putting on a strip of red-lined (double-stick) tape on every flap
Next, I string a piece of baker's twine through all the boxes.
Now comes the fun part! Starting with the biggest box, I fill the boxes with a different variety of candies.
As you finish filling each box, seal the box with the prepared red-lined tape.
Mmmmm....these Candy Cane Kisses are so goooood.
As you go along, make sure to pull on the twine so that the smaller box sits firmly on the box below it.
When all the boxes are filled and sealed, just pull on the twine and finish off by tying a knot on it. If you like, you can start embellishing.
I prefer my trees to have a clean look so I'm making it simple. I cut and embossed two Holly from the Lettering Delights Simple Leaves SVG set and attached two mini jingle bells to hold the leaves in place. I used a stamp from Joy's All Around Sentiment Stamps for the greeting.
I stamped it on a piece of cardstock and punched that out. I then adhered that to a ornament shaped base that I had cut out using Lettering Delights Trim the Tree graphics set and my Make-the-Cut program.
These trees are super fun to make and also a great way to show the recipients how much you appreciate them. I hope that you've enjoyed my Tree of Treats tutorial today. Now, on to my blog candy giveaway...
Today's
giveaway is a set of tools that I use every time I make something with
my Cricut. I consider them an essential part of my crafting toolbox. I
am giving away.....
The Cutter Bee Honey Bee Scissors
AND
AND
the Cutter Bee Tweezer Bee!
