Thanks for the great tutorials. I can not seem to find an answer as to whether or not LD is compatible with MAC.

Hi Jin, I have downloaded a swirl flourish card from the Silhouette online store and want to add text on the front to use as place cards at a wedding. When I go to print, it only prints the lettering and not the outline of the flourish card therefore the machine would not know what to cut. Is it because the image is a cut only file? If so how do I make it work? What am I doing wrong please???
ReplyDeleteIs the shape colored? If it only has cutting lines and is not filled with colors, nothing will be printed. You need to fill it with a color or a pattern first and it will be printed in that color. :)
DeleteHi Jin I am a newby to the Silhouette Designer Edition Studio Software and I have just watched your video on the Dingbat Kokeshi Kawaii print and cut, but I can't seem to work out how to put a cutline around the outer edge - I have traced used the cut and also just cut outer edge but when the machine cuts my doll out it cuts all the inner areas as well, can you please help me to just have my Kokeshi Kawaii doll just cut out around the outer edges. I am wanting to made her into a card. I have made the card by welding together two plan outer edge shapes now I want to cut out the colored picture of her to go on the outside of my card. I hope you don't mind me asking for your help. Kind regards Andrea Beecroft - New Zealand
DeleteGood morning, I live in Brazil and would like to buy some images to cut in the silhouette already tried to make the purchase and pay with paypal but I could not, can you help me? Thank you, Juliana.

I would like to know if your files work with the Pazzles cutting machine?
ReplyDeleteAre you are referring to the Lettering Delights Cut Its files? These files include the SVG file formats. I don't use the Pazzles machine but I understand that you can use SVG with your Pazzles if you have the Inspiration Studio Pro software. You can try it out by downloading a free Cut It set from the freebies tab above. There are several that were designed by LD.
DeleteJin.
ReplyDeleteI know you answered some questions on your FAQ page,.
but on the "Serendipity Cut It Set" that you made.
Did you do that in a print and cut, or did you use the colors of the paper?
I love the texture you get from the things you make.
Can you tell me about that.
My card-stock that is 110 lb is always smooth.
I have used textured papers from the stacks at Micheal's and Joann's but they always have a white core.
Your cuts always look so finished.
Thanks,
**U**
Nance
Hi Nance, for that Serendipity Butterfly, I used American Crafts cardstock and paper-pieced the cut outs.
DeleteHope that helps.

Thank you doll face............

I will be back.

Hi I'm hoping this will be a straight forward question - I'm trying to cut a mat and some keys for a new home card on my Silhouette from silver mirri card but it keeps slipping so its not cutting out correctly. Could you advise the correct settings please? I have successfully cut out on lighter weight plain card but two attempts on mirri card have failed. I have it on glitter stock setting and no 5 on the blade setting. Greatly appreciate any help you can give. Not sure of the gsm as the packet does not state (its Craft UK mirror board).
ReplyDeleteHi KraftyKim, I am not familiar with mirri card but I will post your question on my Facebook page and see if any folks there have the answer you are looking for.
DeleteThanks Jin I really appreciate it!
DeleteHi Jin!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted you to know what an incredible help your website has been. I received my Cameo back in January and the software was kind of overwhelming at first. I didn't even know where to start! Then I found my HG: Under a cherry tree! Love your tutorials, your pictures, your ideas, everything! You are so amazingly creative and talented. UACT is my go-to for tutorials and ideas now! THANKS SO MUCH, YOU ROCK!!!!
Oh my! What a nice post to wake up to! Thanks so much, Wendy! I spend a considerable amount of time making tutorials and I am SO GLAD to know that it has not been in vain. I'm really happy that they've helped you. You've made my day! :D
DeleteWhat kind of printer do you use?
ReplyDeleteI mostly use my Canon PIXMA MP495 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One Printer.
DeleteFor 12" x 12" papers, I use my Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Inkjet Photo Printer.
Hi Jin! I love your blog and tutorials. Thank you so much for the tutorials. I know they have helped me a lot. Currently, I have a PNG image that I would like to cut out in vinyl with the Silhouette, but I am not sure how to do it. I have tried to play around in the Designer Edition, but when I try to look at the cut lines, I seem to have too many (like were the line image has a bold outline, it shows that it will cut a double line). How can I get the image to cut onto vinyl? I am making sense with all of this? Do I need to convert the PGN image to a SVG using Inkscape or something like that (which I have no clue how to do)? If you have any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You, Brenda from San Diego
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda,
DeleteIf you are using a PNG image, you have to first make a trace of it in order to get the cutting lines. See this tutorial for tips on tracing: http://underacherrytree.blogspot.com/2012/10/silhouette-studio-tutorial-for.html>http://underacherrytree.blogspot.com/2012/10/silhouette-studio-tutorial-for.html
Hola Jin!
ReplyDeleteI just finished watching two more of your tutorials and I must say being new to the Silhouette world. I super love your tone of voice, your clear directions and style of your tutorial and your website. Keep up the great work.
Thanks, Kayell! :)
DeleteHi Jin...how are you today...First let me start by saying your work is such a inspiration for me I have 6 little granddaughters that love everything you make...I have a question regarding the silhouette..is there any way to save a file with multiple pages...for example...I am cutting a large tree that fits on a 12 x 12 mat...then of course you have the leaves and flowers...I have them all open can I save as one file or do I have to save them individual..I hope this makes sense? You being the Silhouette guru I am hoping you know...thanks for your time...

Hi Jin! i love your tutorials! I used them daily as i was cutting designs out for my son's class kindergarten scrapbook. I have to say that was my biggest project, ever! 24 scrapbooks! yaow! So my question is...have you ever scanned anything and had the silhouette cut it out? For instance...i have an embossing folder that i simply love but would love to have an automated way of cutting out the embossed graphic. Can you do this with the silhouette? Or scan your childs foot print and have the silhouette cut it out? Thank you!!! Hope you're having a wonderful summer!
ReplyDeleteHi Jin,
ReplyDeleteGreat news for Mac users of the Silhouette. Worth a post all of its own as far as I'm concerned: With the latest download of the Silhouette software, they've fixed the Mac Font issues that have plagued me ever since I got my SD. I can now see and work on all of the fonts I own (1500) not just a random smattering (150). Am so excited I could scream!
I know from posts in forums for the past 2+ years that this has been a major grumble for Mac users of the Silhouette and now it's fixed--for free. Please spread the news!
Thanks and keep up the good work!!
Thank you for the info! I'll add that to my next post. :)
DeleteHi Jin
ReplyDeleteThis is Cristina from Portugal, i wanted to ask you this:
what do yo do when your silhouette matt doesn,t glue anymore?
Do you know any online shop that sels silhouette products paints and scrapbook materials for a good price?
thanks cristina
While some folks re-sticky their used mats with tacky glue (e.g. Aileen's Tack It Over and Over or Krylon Easy Tack Repositional Spray), personally I prefer to replace mine with a brand new one. I usually stock up on new mats when they are on sale from Amazon, or the Silhouette Store.
DeleteI love your blog - such great ideas!! I have a portrait and am considering getting the designer edition software, but I am still a novice so not quite sure how to use it! I have question about your seasons greattings recent post with the bird and the Christmas hat! Was the green square just green printing onto a white piece of paper? If so, what type of printer do you use? I have a lot of different cardstock, but have not tried printing out a solid square of color, as I don't think it would come out very well on my printer - on yours it doesnt look like it was printed! Also, how are the lettering delights images different from the ones on the silhouette store? I am assuming you can only use them with the deisgner edition? THANK YOU!!
ReplyDeleteWoww! Love your blog, than you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your pictures, Jin. It looks like your family had an amazing trip. Singapore is one of my favorite cities in the world. Unfortunately, we were only there for a couple of days before beginning a cruise. One place we loved most was the night zoo. I don't see any pics of that in your collection. If you have not been there, it is really worth the visit.
ReplyDeleteHi Jin
ReplyDeleteI love your blog so i buy a cameo but I face a problem , when i do my designs and print and then send it to cut, the machine is not cutting properly, it is cutting through the design, like a inch or half inch above the design, what can i do to correct this?
Are you using a cutting mat? If so, check the LCD screen on your Cameo and make sure that Load Cutting Mat is selected instead of Load Media. Use Load Media if you are not using a mat.
DeleteHi Jin,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, great job on all your projects and ideas. I have been so inspired by your creativity and value your opinion. Since buying the Silhouette Cameo a year ago I expanded my digital files and would like to invest in a good printer to use for digital papers. You listed the two printers you use and I explored them both. I can get a very good deal on the Canon Pixma Pro-100 which is the successor of the Pro-9000 Mark II. I would buy it in a heart beat but the ongoing cost of ink for that model is very high. My question to you is about the quality difference. If I buy a printer I want to be able to get very good results for the digital papers. I do not necessarily need the 12x12 size. How much difference in quality (for example, how vibrant the colors are) can you see between your two printers? I would appreciate any help or input you can give me. Thank you for your time, Katja
I Jin, I follow your blog and absolutely admire everything you do! I was wondering if you know of a way that we can mass print .svg files by converting them to PDF's to print at staples or elsewhere? I have tons of things I want to do for my kids school but I find that printing at home is just too expensive and my printer isn't really that good. Thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is what I use when I want to print my files into a pdf. There is more info on the link but basically after installing the program, I just select doPDF as my printer to "print" it into a pdf. http://www.dopdf.com/
DeleteJust wanted to mention one more thing- if you are massing printing to do mass print-and-cuts, you may want to make a few prints first and check that the printouts work for print-and-cut before going ahead with the mass-printing. This is just to make sure that the print will work for pnc. :)
DeleteHi Jin, I need help please. My Scrap Chick sent me your video link on how to print and cut but I still seem to be having trouble getting my Silhouette to cut where the image is. I am using a MAC don't know if that matters. I have so frustrated. I would love to print out these images I purchased but just can't seem to get it. Please help me.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Karen
Hi Karen, you have posted your question on my Facebook page and I have replied to it. Please check that page. Thanks!
DeleteHi Jin I have tried you How to click on the traced line to make an offset I cannot seem to get the same outcome as you do.My machine the Cameo..Doesn't seem to want to give me a decent offset i end up with a red line outside my image..
ReplyDeleteAlso eventually if i copy then delete my image it just either disappears or is too big !!
My machine doesn't seem to want to work as well as yours either??I have the DE as well. But it hardly moves anything nowadays..!! Am i doing something wrong?
Thanks Mary
Hi Mary, you have posted the same questions on my Facebook page and I have replied there. Please take a look.
DeleteHi, Jin, May I know how you got the pretty2 cardstock especialy one that can be printed using inkjet printer. I cant find type of paper except photo paper here in my country.
ReplyDeleteHi zaza, Can you point me to the blog post where I used the paper? I use all kinds of different brand papers and I'm not really sure which one you are referring to. If you can point me to the post, I'll be able to tell you. :)
DeleteHi Jin,
ReplyDeleteI'm working on your adorable witch card using LD's best witches cut set. I'm very new at this (my first one) and wondering why the cat is so big and if you used the same size witch as came with the set. How do you determine sizing? Is it all trial and error? I'm trying to learn:)
Love all your work (uh...play)!
Are you referring to the card HERE? It's been a while since I made that card but it is likely that I enlarged the cat to make the card look balanced. It's really all up to personal preference and I do a lot of size adjustments for all my projects and it's all trial-and-error (or just eye-balling). :)
DeleteI have purchased the Happily Ever After, More Happily Ever After and the Villians from Lettering Delights. I was hoping you could help me. I don't know the names of all of the characters on there. Can you help me or should I ask Lettering Delights? I know you said you had small children so I thought you might know their names pretty well! I know Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Tinkerbell, Little Red Riding Hood, Prince Charming and the Knight but I don't know about the other ones. I really hope u can help. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteJen,
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who is Chinese, and speeks it well.Is there a way you can make an svg saying Merry Christmas in Chinese. She is such a sweet person and I want to do something nice for her.
Thankyou,
Bobbie
Hi Jin, I really like the cupcake topper template you made and thanks for sharing the template, I would like to see if you can do tutorial how you made the template as I would like to do other shapes and size with it. Thanks so much. DT
ReplyDeleteThank you Jin for your Halloween cupcake topper template I have cut out my circles for my Grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteCan I please ask a question of you. I have purchase a set of LD Circle Sentiment duddlebat alphabet but I am having trouble cuting them out they have a centre cut out and fall to pieces once cut out can you help me to stablizing the circles as I wanting to use the circles as sentiment greeting for my cards. Thank you Andrea

ReplyDeleteI'm off to visit! :)
DeleteHi Jin what paper do you use to print your cards?
ReplyDeleteHi Jin,
ReplyDeleteLove your ideas. What is the difference between lettering delights shapes and the ones I can buy at the silhouette online store? I have a portrait and am considering buying the designer edition software. Do I need that in order to use lettering delights? Thank you!!!
Jin,
ReplyDeleteAs I was working on some Thanksgiving projects with my Cameo humming in the background, I thought back to how much I've learned since I first purchased my machine. I wanted to send you a message and tell you again how much I appreciate all the help you have given me through your tutorials and the times that I've emailed you. Thanks so much and I wish you and your family a very blessed holiday season.
Melissa Mathews
Hi Melissa! :) I'm sorry for the late response but I just saw your message and I wanted to thank you for all your kind words. I appreciate every word very very much. Thank you and I hope that you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!
Deletexoxo,
Jin :)
Dear Jin,
ReplyDeleteI'm from India and I just love reading your blog. We do not get Silhouette or other cutters easily in India for crafting. I must say there are many creative ppl around but I haven't found someone like you who loves to share their creativity and knowledge. A big applause to you for that. You are an inspiration to me and one of the reasons for me buying the cameo ( I had to buy it from Singapore). Although I have bought it I'm not that well versed with it as yet and request your guidance. I'm trying to make a sheet of sticker on an A4 size paper. Sticker size rectangle (7cm width * 4 cm height). A4 sheet size is 21cm * 29.7 cm. so technically i should be able to fit in 3 rows of 7 stickers each. total 21 stickers. However if I show the registration mark and try to fill the page with the sticker rectangle it fits in only 2 rows of 6 each. Can you please help as to what am i doing wrong. Thanks Keisha.
Hi Keisha, I'm sorry but I just saw your post. I'm not sure if you have already found the answer to your question but I'll try to help anyway. :) The software needs to leave an allowance on the page to allow sufficient room for the cutter to scan for the registration marks. Inside the Silhouette software, when you show the registration marks on your virtual mat you may notice a shaded area. That is the so-called No Cut zone and you should not place any images in that space in order to have a successful print-and-cut.
DeleteThanks Jin
DeleteHi Jin...Ive managed to find some sticker paper which allows my inkjet canon printer to print on it. however i notice that the ink bleeds if water falls on it. Is that how its supposed to be?
DeleteDear Jin,
ReplyDeleteOh please can you help me. Some time ago I watched a video which showed how to create an SVG file in Craft Artist (you had to increase the line width) and then import it into Silhouette Cameo. I have spent hours trying to find this I am hoping maybe you posted it! The reason I am trying to do this is that I have several sketched images which I would like the Silhouette to replicate, however when I save them in whatever programme I use to a SVG file they come into Silhouette as a rectangle (just the outer edge!) Does this make any sense to you. All I want is to be able to draw out my own sketches. Please can you help? Thank you in anticipation. Trish
Hi Trish, I don't use Craft Artist but I found a discussion on the MTC forum that may help. Click HERE to see the thread.
DeleteHi Jin! I've recently received a Silhouette Cameo for my birthday, I'm so happy!! I found your blog and you are a great teacher, thank you for all of your helpful tutorials. I'm having a problem with the "print and cut" function. I'm following all of your instructions, but the cameo is cutting about 1 milimeter down the printed image, so I ended with a white border on the top of my shapes. I fixed printing and then moving the designs 1 milimeter down with the move option. I don't know if I'm explaining the right way, my english is not so good. Do you know what can I do to solve this problem? I don't know where can I send you a picture of my cutted shapes. Thank you so much. Nilda.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you may have to calibrate your machine. You can find the instructions here: http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/faq/solution/calibrating-the-silhouette-for-proper-print-cut-registration-alignment
DeleteI just did it, but only cuts the vertical calibration marks, not the horizontal ones, so I can't adjust the cuts...
DeleteI fixed it! I calibrated but still cutting down the printed image. I'll keep trying. Thanks.
DeleteHi Jin I have a 1 1/4 button maker can you give directions how to adjust the buttons in Silhouette Cameo. I downloaded yours but it is too small. Please help Or if you can tell me the measurements to cut out the circles for a 1 1/4 button maker. Much Aloha
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, the measurements of the template were based on the instructions that came with my 1" button maker. As I do not have a 1 1/4" button maker, you may want to refer to the instructions that came with your machine for the measurements and adjust the template accordingly.
DeleteI like Lettering Delights files...but I'm a little leary of using them...theres not enough video tutorials for me. I'm interested in the Stringbeans: Super Sons, Ladies and Darling Daughters. I think I want the Cut it set I have a Cameo. Can you switch the hair and outfits around or is it what you see is what you get? In other words can the Stringbeans be like paper dolls?
ReplyDeleteHi cricaholic, the Stringbeans' outfits are not interchangeable and they are not intended to be used as paper dolls. LD has other files that are designed for that, and you should be able to find them by doing a search on "paper dolls" on their site. Here is an example -> Dress Up Paper Dolls
DeleteTHANKS! The "paper dolls" are nice. I'll have to think about it....I really like the Stringbeans though.
DeleteHello Jin,
ReplyDeleteI am a long time Cricut Expression user, brand new Silhouette user. I've been watching/reading your tutorials and they are a lot of help. Thank you for taking the time to make these available for people like me.
I have an exchange student from Thailand that is part Chinese and she celebrates Chinese New Year back home. I'm planning on having a Chinese New Year celebration at the end of the month to give her a little bit of home. I'm hoping you might know where I could find the Chinese characters for Good Luck, Prosperity, Good Fortune, and Health. I'm also looking for anything I can make decoration-wise. I tried finding something on Lettering Delights and the Silhouette store, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hello! You may want to check out the the Xingfu Collection. It was designed with the Lunar New Year in mind. :-)
DeleteThank you so much for the pointer to the Xingfu Collection. It looks like a perfect solution. Now I just have to figure out the new toy (Silhouette Cameo). :)
DeleteI am using my Cameo to make food labels for my son's bday party. I didn't realize until later that I had printed a sheet, moved those labels off my digital cutting mat, put more labels on it, printed them, and so on. When I went to cut the labels after printing several pages of labels, I realized I no longer had the layout of the labels I did prior to the last set. Does this mean I will have to re-print each page, cut, then print the second page, cut it, then the third, etc? I assume once I move the images around on my digital cutting mat that my cutter won't know where the placement was previously for that specific page I'm trying to cut? I used the Undo button but could only go so far back. Hope this makes sense.
ReplyDeleteHello Jin, will you be posting a video tutorial on how you did your first tests on the pop-up cards? I like the pop-up cards you just made. I would like to use my own pictures that I took to make the cards. I might have to do some photoshop cropping and then create the pop-up card. Your videos will help me a lot. Thanks so much for sharing your tips and tricks!
ReplyDeleteHi Jin, Do you know of any cutting blades (and blade holder) that can be substituted for Silhouette Cameo blades? I'd love to find something that isn't so expensive. I use my Cameo almost every day and I wear out my blades pretty quickly. Thank you for all your clear tutorials. You are so gracious to share your knowledge and enthusiasm with the rest of us. Love following your posts! -AJ
ReplyDeleteHi AJ, I only use Silhouette blades but there was a discussion of 3rd party products on my Facebook page recently. The use of 3rd party blades was mentioned briefly. You may want to take a look at it HERE
DeleteHello Jin, I love the cards you have done in popup card studio and was wondering what is the size of your project in PCS. I create it, but when I being it into Silhouette it does not fit within my registration marks. Thanks for the help
ReplyDeleteHi Crystal, I make the cards so that they fit inside an A2 size card base. The size of the pop-up layer measures 5.25"(w) x 4"(h).
DeleteThank you so much. I'm off to give it a try. Have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteI'm new to Silhouette and am wondering what is Pop Up Card Studio? Is it available for purchase through Silhouette? Thank you.
DeleteHi Jin, I just received my Silhouette Cameo and I am using Studio Design Edition. Can you tell me if the snowflake you used in your 10/27/2011 tutorial in still available? I can't seem to find it. Thank you so much. Caroline
ReplyDeleteHi Caroline! The snowflake came with the purchase of the Silhouette SD and unfortunately, as far as I know, is not available in the Silhouette Online Store. I'm sorry.
DeleteHi! I love your style and I'd like to order a very BIG card for one of our co-workers who always fills the dept. with Candy every week...Something appropriate for everyone to sign maybe? Can you send me some options?? charlottemullaney2012@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi! I love your blog! Did you ever own an original Silhouette? I bought a used one in good condition but I can't get the print and cut to work which is the main reason I bought it. I've contacted Silhouette and they've given me a few suggestions but it still doesn't work. I've followed your directions and others' on Youtube. It keeps saying it fails to read the registration marks- it starts to but then stops and doesn't do anything else. Thanks for any help you can give me. :) Elaine
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine, I've never used or owned an original Silhouette machine but I have posted your question on my Facebook page. Hopefully someone who has that cutter can help you with your question. You can find the thread HERE.
DeleteLove the latest Sailing Card with the freebie "Come Sail Away With Me". Thankyou. However, try as I might I cannot find the sailing boat to buy anywhere. Can you help please? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi Audrey, the sailboat came from the Hooked on You cut it project (svg). If you click on the link, it'll show up as the 4th image from the left on the top row. :)
DeleteJin- I was so impressed with all your Print & Cut projects that you have shared that I finally purchased a Cameo! I am not familiar with the silhouette software and it's going to take me a while to learn it. My silhouette also came with the designer edition software. Do you use this software or MTC? I know MTC and wonder if it does the same thing as the Silhouette designer edition?
ReplyDeleteWhen you use Print & Cut, does your printer ink run out fast? My ink cartridges are expensive and it's cheaper for me to buy a new printer with new cartridges than just purchase the cartridges! Do you have any recommendations for where to purchase "discounted" cartridges? I have an HP Photosmart All in One printer that uses 5 ink cartridges(#564).
Thanks!!!
karen
I use MTC for designing and tracing but for print-and-cut projects, I tend to use SSDE. It's just a personal preference and if you prefer MTC, you can definitely use it for print-and-cut too.
DeleteI print A LOT with my Canon inkjet printer. I used to buy the Canon-brand ink cartridges from Amazon as they tend to have the best price but for the last couple of months I have turned to Costco ink refills. It is a lot more economical (especially with a coupon!) and the printouts look just as good as when I use the manufacturer's brand of ink. I know that some folks recommend using a Continuous Ink System (CIS) because it is cheap but I do not have any personal experience with it. It is worth taking a look if you are interested in cutting down the cost of home printing.
Jin, Can LD doodlebats be used with Make the Cut?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Click HERE for an example. Bear in mind though that some doodlebats work better then others. Look for those that are bold and not sketch-like. :)
DeleteI enjoy your tutorials and your fun projects. Thanks for all of your inspiration. I have a question regarding stencils. I need to make stencils of names and birthdays. I am trying to cut some stencils on contact paper so I can stick it to the fabric. Some of the letters don't cut all the way through while others come loose and travel around with the cutter. The stencils are for one time use so I don't want to use actual stencil acetate (I have 32 names to do). Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteHi, I posted your question to my Facebook page and you can find the suggestions offered by my readers on the thread HERE.
DeleteHi Jin,
ReplyDeleteI just ordered my Cameo yesterday and CANNOT wait to get it. I am so excited and am looking forward to following your tutorials. ReplyDeleteHello Neighbor :)
ReplyDeleteGreat Tutorials. I am a new silhouette owner and I'm having a ton of fun with it. Thank you for the cute ideas, thank you for the links to fonts and coupon codes! I love to save money for my new hobby! I have 2 questions. 1. What die cutter do you recommend? Does it matter?
2. What version of AI do you recommend? and Where would you recommend purchasing it? (to use my new samantha script fonts)
thank you for your help
Hey Jin,
ReplyDeleteI am hving trouble getting your e-mail updates now - something happened a couple months ago. Soem people are not receiving my own blog updates, too evn tho they are subscribes. I think something hppened to us who are sending out blog updates via aol or yahoo........some of my subscribers are lucky to get updates but many hv told me they do not receive them. Do you have any idea what happen or what can be done toresolve this. Blogspot "help" is no help at all.............sigh. I wud appreciate any input you may have. Patti (from www.creationsbypatti.blogspot.com). If you hv any suggestions, feel free to e-mail me at pattislee@aol.com THANK YOU ever so much!
It seems that many folks are having the same problem. I cannot verify this but what I have heard is that yahoo is marking these emails as spam and blocking them. :( My emails are currently being sent out by Feedburner but if this problem persist, I may have to switch to a new newsletter provider.
DeleteThank you for ur feedbk. My subscriber is also Feedburner, too. Your updates are not going into my spam folder right now. It seems thy r simply being blocked entirely - I knw at least 7 local friends who hv said thy r not rcving my updates n today I also notice I ws not recving updates yet fm another site, too........gads............WHAT is going on in the" clouds"? How does one switch to a new newletter provider? I did not set up my blog so hv no clue how to mke thsoe chnges. May nd to google this task.

DeleteHi Jin,
ReplyDeleteLove your blog & all your creativity! I want to know how you organize all your LD & other svg's? Let's say you want to cut a fox, how can you search through all your LD svg's to find one? Do you import them all into SIL St? I just have trouble organizing all my svg's and finding the right design when I need it. Thanks for all your help.
Hi Tami, I download and save my all LD files on a separate hard drive as a backup. I organize those files by collection. When I want to start on a new project, I go back to the LD site and use their search feature. Since they do not limit the number of downloads that you can make (so long as you own the file and have it in your LD library), I would redownload the specific image that I want to use. See this tutorial to learn how to download only one SVG image from the LD site instead of downloading the whole set -->> http://underacherrytree.blogspot.com/2013/03/ld-tip-how-to-download-1-imagesvg-at.html
DeleteHi Jin
ReplyDeleteI was trying to print and cut a LD design there was a part that require a paste to front and move to back ,however I am not been able to past to front or move to back can kindly advise if you know what's happening?
Thanks Tay
Are you using Silhouette Studio v3.1.417? There is a bug in the program that causes the Send-to-Back and Bring-to-Front to not work. To correct the issue, just select the whole image, do a Group and then an Ungroup and you should be able to use the Bring-to-Front/Send-to-Back commands again.
DeleteJin, Thank you so much for inspiring us to be creative. I have learned so much from you, and after 2 years finally feel I have finally mastered some techniques on my Silhouette Cameo. I hope readers remember to always purchase their Amazon and LD items through your website portal, so you can make some money off their purchase! You certainly deserve it for all of your time teaching us! I just purchased some 8.5X11 American Crafts cardstock in white to try for print and cuts. It seems like your pnc preference in the FAQ above is outdated?? I wonder which brand of smooth cardstock is your preferred brand now (2015) for 8.5 X 11 size. Thank you again for all you do!! -Jamie
ReplyDeleteHi Jin
ReplyDeleteI am a newby to the Silhouette Designer Studio and would like to know if you have some more beginner tutorials. Recently, I watch both print and cut and offset tutorials. I want to learn more because I have 2 kids and want to make some stuff for their birthday party. I hope that you can help me.
By the way, you are a very good teacher!!!
