Pinch-Proof Chickie

I've been doing so many print-and-cut projects lately that I forget that a simple card is just as fun to make. There is really no need to add extra embellishments just to have some fun creating something. The card that I made today has no printed background, no offsets, and is not shaped. It's just a simple layered image on a plain card base.

While browsing the LD sale, I came across one of my favorite sets. I've used the panda and the turkey from the Kawaii Kalendar Cut Its (SVG) in previous projects but I've never cut out the chick before. I thought it's time to try it.

I cut out the layers with my Silhouette Cameo but I made two slight modifications (Of course I did! I just can't leave an LD SVG alone, can I?). I cut out and adhered an extra beak and shamrock layer for added dimension.

The frames on the card front were cut out with metal dies and my Sizzix Big Shot. I cut out the scallop frame out of gold vinyl to reduce bulk. The card was quick to make but I enjoyed it a lot.

Hope you like it too. :-)

  4. Also...what kind of paper do you use? It doesn't look like plain cardstock.
Where can I find some and how much do they run??
