Happy Spring!

Happy First Day of Spring!

I want to say that I'm so glad that our cold winter is over but to be honest, the season wasn't really that chilly for us here in the Pacific Northwest. In fact, Seattle broke the record for the warmest February! Due to the unseasonably warm weather, the cherry blossoms here have even started to bloom early.

Cherry blossoms in the Quad at UW.

Still, I'm super excited that Spring is officially here. See? I even made a card to celebrate the season.

I chanced upon the Lil Peanuts Cut Its (SVG) set while browsing the LD Dollar Days Sale and I just had to cut out the lambie. It's so cute!

If I stare at it long enough, will it go "Baa...."?

After cutting and putting the lambie together, I decided to "cute-tify" it further. The illustration below shows how I made an additional layer for the top of the lambie's head.

I used the Grass Cupcake Wrapper Cut It/SVG to add a layer of "grass" on the card front because I like how it has a curved look. To soften the color of the green "grass" cardstock, I cut out a second "grass" layer out of vellum and adhered that over the green cardstock.

I cut the sentiment out of black vinyl because it looked sharper than if I had printed it. The butterflies were cut out of yellow vellum and attached to the card front with glue dots.

Here is the finished card. You likey? Yeah, me likey too. :-)

Have a great Spring, y'all!

  1. Thank you so much!!! I am literally going to make this card right this minute! I was looking for some inspiration today. Thanks also for providing the "spring" file. And, for providing it in so many formats. I have never been able to use MTC because this house is a Mac-only environment. So, I'm happy for the SVG and Studio files. You are so generous to share.

  5. So fresh and warm! Would you mind sharing the name of the font that the word "Spring" is in? I've seen it used in many places and I'm thinking I've just got to buy it (assuming it's not a free font). I love it THAT much. And it pairs well with other fonts, as your example shows!
