Late Rabbit! - an Action Wobble card
Last Friday LD released their version of Alice in Wonderland and even though I love all the images in the Curiouser and Curiouser Collection, I really want to cut out the White Rabbit first.
Today's project is a hybrid card. I used print-and-cut with the traditional paper-piecing method to put the card together. Using Silhouette Studio (Designer Ed.), I first designed the card within a 5.5" x4.25" rectangle. Once I am pleased with how it looks, I printed the card front and the card base.
I print-and-cut the polka-dot card front because I wanted the oval to be cut out exactly as I laid out on the virtual mat. I trimmed the black/white diamond card base with my paper trimmer as it was simply faster.
The rabbit was paper-pieced the traditional way. In other words, I dragged-and-dropped the SVG onto the virtual mat and UNGROUP. I cut out all the colored layers using different colored cardstock and put the rabbit together using glue and foam tape.
While I was cutting the layers for the rabbit, I was a little unsure if the Cameo could cut the clock-face. It is tiny! The diameter measures less than 0.6" so I decided to have the Cameo cut that on some left over sticker paper. That way, I also don't have to deal with gluing it down since the sticker paper is adhesive-backed.
The Cameo did a great job cutting the clock-face out! I lowered the Blade to 1, the Speed to 5, and the Thickness to 18. Seriously, the cutout is tiny. It is so small it even fits on a key on my laptop!
The font that I used for this card is LD This and That. I filled the smaller-sized text with white and the larger ones with blue to add more interest.
The card front was attached to the base using foam tape to give the card more dimension while the bunny was affixed with an Action Wobble for added fun!
So there you go, here's my Late Rabbit card again. I think it's perfect for a belated birthday card or perhaps, even just for fun. :-)
