Jin's Pâtisserie Box {free download}

Hey Everyone, how about we start the week with a freebie? :-)

One of the kids' favorite things from our recent road trip is the box from Pâtisserie Für Elise. When we were at the store, Hubby had bought each girl a slice of cake and they loved their bakery boxes so much, they insisted on keeping them long after the treats are gone. They stored knick-knacks in their boxes and have been carrying them as if they were purses. I was so amused I decided to make a smaller version for them. So while they were watching t.v. the other day, I sat down to make this Pâtisserie Für Elise-inspired box.

The assembly of this box is very straightforward. Since the whole thing comes in one piece, there is no gluing required. To make the box, first download the file from the link at the end of this post. Use your cutter and cutting program to cut out the template.

 Lightly crease the score/fold lines.

 No gluing is needed to assemble the box. Instead, just "hook" the two sides together.

There are two notches by the sides of the handle. These were designed to lock the two flaps so that the box stays closed.

The finished box measures approximately 3.5" x 2.75" x 1.75". Fill it with candies or any sweets your heart desires.

I used Make-the-Cut to design the template but made the files in 3 formats: .mtc, .studio, and .svg.

Click HERE to go to my SkyDrive and click on the tile to start the download. Don't forget to Unzip before opening/importing into your cutting program. I recommend that you use the file format for the program that you intend to use. For example, if you are using MTC to cut, please use the .mtc file, or if you are using Silhouette Studio, please use the included .studio file. This is because each file is optimized for the program and you will get the best results by using the appropriate file format.

I have also included a SVG format for those of you who do not use MTC or Silhouette Studio. By the way, if you prefer using the SVG with MTC, please remember to import at Actual and 72 DPI.

Enjoy and have fun cutting! :-)

  38. Hi,
    Do you have the pattern-file also availabe as a picture file?
    I don't have a cutting-machine, but still love the pattern and wanna try it.

  39. This may be a dumb question but I'm fairly new to die cutting (have a new Gazelle). Can you please tell me what type of material (paper, cardstock, chipboard) is used for this project and even the stationery box? It seems that regular 65# paper would just not be thick enough but I have never seen pretty chipboard or 100# cardstock with patterns. Thank you!

    1. Hi StefiKaye! I used patterned cardstock to make these boxes. I can't recall the brand but it may be My Mind's Eye. I don't know the weight of these papers but it is heavier than 65# and lighter than 100#. I supposed it's probably 80# cover? Sorry I can't give you a more precise answer. :(
