Edit:
Please note that the following video tutorial was posted when v.3.3.0 BETA was released. The upgrade is now out of beta and the latest stable version is v.3.3.2. You can download it by clicking at this link: MTC v.3.3.2 Download
In the tutorial below, I installed over v.3.2.1. If you do not have a version of MTC that is at least v.3.2.0, please DO NOT install over it. The plug-ins folder was created only with v.3.2.0 and you may only upgrade MTC without losing the ability to cut to the Cricut if you have at least that version (v.3.2.0).

Several readers have asked me if installing the new Make-the-Cut upgrade will over-write the Cricut Plug-in and disable the Cricut cutter from working with the program. From reading the various groups and forums, I have learned that if you are currently able to cut to the Cricut with MTC, installing and launching MTC v 3.3.0 BETA will not change that. You will still be able to use your Cricut with the program. I figure the best way to find out for myself is to install and launch the upgrade on my computer. Watch the video below to see what happens.

This is fantastic for those who are still using the bug machines. Am so glad that all of the wonderful MTC followers are not being left behind with the new version.
ReplyDeleteAndy has given us even more than expected with this new version, the ability to see your cupcake and drink wrappers in 3D is fantastic. And the new improvements to the pixel trace tool is wonderful. Also, partnering with LD and being able to see the cut files and import them already in parts is great.
I am so excited!!!!!
I agree with Linda. I watched your video and will now get the webinar! Very glad about the LD arrangement! Thanks for setting our fears to rest.
ReplyDeleteFantastic and btw I love Lettering Delights!
ReplyDeleteYou are the best, Jin! I was hoping for someone would post a video on the new upgrade this morning and then I go to your blog and sure enough, you did it! Thanks so much, going to go DL the upgrade now. :)

Thank you Jin! I downloaded, played around a LOT, and cutting was successful. What a BLESSING! WOW!
ReplyDeleteHi Jin,
ReplyDeleteI watched your video and with much trepidation I installed the new version (from 3.2.1), but my plugins didn't transfer over. I tried to cut/paste the plug ins from the last version, but didn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks
If you have been successfully cutting to your Cricut with MTC and have v3.2.0 or NEWER, you will have the Plugins folder in your Make-the-Cut directory. Just make a copy of that and copy it over to the new MTC directory.
ReplyDeleteSo I have version 2.2.1. What you are saying is that I should not install the latest version; right?
