Like last year's bundle, each simple shape is basically a single-layer image. No paper piecing is required. However, in this year's Simple Shapes Super Plus Bundle, Lettering Delights is giving us the option to add extra details by using our pens with our cutters. You see, this year's Simple Shapes come with an extra layer that is meant to be drawn instead of cut out. Let me explain in more detail:
If you are using Silhouette Studio (Designer Edition), when you import the image into the program, first UNGROUP the shape. You will find that there are two layers. To use the Pen/Draw Layer, turn the cut lines on, then replace the cutting blade with a pen and pen attachment and send the cutter to "cut".

I use the Chomas pen attachment with my Cameo and for more information on how I do that, please click HERE.
If you are using Make-the-Cut, just Open the eye on the Pen/Draw-Layer to turn it on.

Hey Jin,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. I was wondering what that "bonus layer" was all about. I can always count on you to keep my updated on LD!!
Take care,
Therese
I need to go download these. What a great idea to add the pen touches. You know, I have yet to try the pen with my silhouette? Bad me.
