TUTORIAL: Quick and Easy {Print-and-Cut} Christmas Tag Stickers

The UPS guy is late. I'm supposed to be outside by now, doing the things that I'm supposed to be doing. Instead, I am sitting at home waiting.

There is a lot of construction going on in my neighborhood and all those trucks that are going in and out of the area are making me feel even more antsy. Every time I hear the sounds of a truck, I'd think that UPS is at my door. It's so disappointing to sprint to the door only to see that it's not UPS after all.

All the waiting was starting to get to me. I had to do something to keep my mind off of it. I flipped opened my laptop and started browsing my LD files.  Then I spotted the Christmas Advent Gum printables. How come I've never used this set before? It's so cute!!

The file was intended for making a advent calendar for gum but I thought it would be perfect for making Christmas Tag Stickers too.

Using Silhouette Studio Designer Edition, I imported one of the .png files onto the virtual mat.

I reduced the image to a usable size and took note of the dimensions.

Using the rounded-rectangle tool, I drew a box using the dimensions that I had noted in the previous step. I duplicated the rectangles until the entire page is full. (To fill the page, I sized each of my rectangles at 2.70" x 2.195".)

Now comes the fun part- I fill the boxes with designs by dragging and dropping the art into the boxes.

When all the boxes are filled, I did a print-and-cut on the tag stickers, and the project is done!

These tag stickers were quick and easy to make and the finished stickers are very useful and practical too. Christmas is around the corner and these labels would be perfect to use in place of tags. All I need to do now is to wrap the gifts that I had bought online so I can slap on these labels.

If only UPS would bring them here soon.

  2. Thank you so much for all your tutorials Jin. I haven't really made anything crafty lately, but it's good to know where to turn to when I do find the time to make anything.

  3. Very cute!! I love your blog and have been following for a few years now.
Question: What brand did you use for the sticker sheets?

  4. Very cute! I did not know of this easy way of doing this. Question, if I resize the image first, it won't "snap" inside the rectangle, and some images are just too big. I tried the Giraffing around (one of the freebies) and one of the giraffes was just toooooo big, but trying to resize the image first would not work. Am I doing something wrong, or is that just how it works? I used your sticker dimensions in the tutorial.
