Video Tutorial: How to make a LD note card in MTC in 4 minutes

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by all the ideas that are out there? Blogs, message boards, magazines, and more blogs. There is so much creativity out there and even though you tell yourself that you can do some of those projects, you freeze when you finally find time to sit at your crafting table.

Well, that's me sitting frozen sometimes and when I get into a rut, I like to get back to basics. Making something simple just to get those hands moving is a quick way to rejuvenate the creative mind. One of my favorite things to make is a quick note card.

Today's card is super quick and easy. It is made with a single image from Lettering Delights' DB Chill Out Doddlebat font.

This is a great LD card for the beginner Make-the-Cut user. In fact, it is so easy that I thought I would make a video to show that this card can be prepare in MTC in under 4 minutes.

Note that I am using MTC v.3.0.0 beta. Don't forget to Simplify (CTRL-G in v.2.3.2 or CTRL-SHIFT-Z in v.3.0.0 beta) before you cut.

The sentiment is from Joy's All Around Sentiment stamps. I stamped the image twice and punched out with a 1.5" and a 1" circle punch. I layered the smaller circle over the bigger one with foam tape. Stickles was applied to the beak and I had some goggley eyes so I used those for the penguin's eyes. To finish the card, just emboss the white card front and adhere the sentiment onto it.

  1. Love how quick and simple this is! But I have to come to blogs like yours for the creative ideas. I never would've thought to put the penguin on the card like that. Thanks for the tutorial and the inspiration!

  5. Quick question--when you changed the colors for the layers, did you do that for tutorial effect, or did you print and cut, instead of using colored paper?

  6. Thanks everyone. :-)

jayma15, I changed the colors to show the different layers in the tutorial. I did not use print and cut for this card but if you like, you could certainly do that in this case or select "Texturize" in the same box to add textures. :-)
