Cupcake Crates

Treats. You can bag them up, tie a string, and give away as-is.

Or you can make a holder for it and shape it like a cupcake.

I'd take the cupcake please, thank you.

P.S.

While cutting out the layers for this holder, I noticed a "sprinkle malfunction" in File #3. There is a half sprinkle in the layer and it's not a big deal unless you are picky like me. I used Silhouette Studio's Release Compound Path to delete the half sprinkle away and replaced it with one that is good. I've reported this to LD.

  1. Hi Jin, I really love these crates and bought the design to make for the kids at church this weekend. My question is I have them downloaded into my SDE software all ready to cut, but I need help with assembly instructions. I'd like to know what gets folded where before cutting so I can make perforated lines. Any help would be much appreciated! (If this is not the right place to ask, I will contact LD for support :)) Thanks for all you to do help us!

    1. Hi Lisette, Sorry I just saw your question, hopefully this reply is not too late. I assembled the outer "holder" first, and separately put together all the other layers. When the "cupcake" is assembled, I adhere it to the holder with glue or tape. Hope that helps!

  2. Were all of your layers the same? Mine are and I tried DXF and GSD. I know I can ungroup the image to get each layer, but that becomes a huge pain with the sprinkles and other small objects. Any suggestions?! I can send you a print screen via email if that helps

    1. Hey Jennifer, I used the SVG version and they worked fine but then again I am using Silhouette Studio Designer Edition and you do need that to open SVGs (if you are using the Silhouette cutter). I just took a look at the files for you and I don't think that the layers for the dxf and gsd are supposed to look the same. I've forwarded your comment to LD but it is the weekend and I don't expect a response until Monday. Will let you know if I get a reply or if you like, you can report the issue to them at support@letteringdelights.com

    2. I dont see SVG as a option for uploading files into Silhouette, is that because I am using the free version? Could I take the SVG files into InkScape, change the format to GSD or DXT, then move it over to Silhouette?!

    3. You can only use SVG if you have the Designer Edition upgrade but you can use Inkscape to convert to DXF. I have a video tutorial here . Btw, LD is working on the file and hopefully will get it fixed soon. :)
