{free download} Jin's Bottle Tag templates (include gift card holder)
So yesterday I showed you where Hubby got his custom-label soda bottles. He wanted to include a gift card with the soda and so I came up with this bottle tag that also doubles up as a gift card holder.
Although I usually design my shapes with Make-the-Cut, I made this bottle tag using Silhouette Studio. I had intended to print-and-cut these tags out and because I prefer to use Silhouette Studio for printing-and-cutting, I thought I would just go ahead and design these there.
To get your templates*, click HERE to go to my Skydrive, right-click on the file name and select Download. After you have downloaded the file, please unzip it and you will find the cutting files in .mtc, .studio, and .svg formats. I recommend that you use the file format for the program that you intend to use. For example, if you are using Make-the-Cut to cut, please use the .mtc file, or if you are using Silhouette Studio, please use the included .studio file. This is because each file is optimized for the program and you will get the best results by using the appropriate file format. The SVG format was included for those of you who do not use MTC or Silhouette Studio.
The following is a video that shows you how to add patterns to the template using Silhouette Studio. For those of you who are reading this post via the email sent out by Feedburner, please click HERE to watch the tutorial on my YouTube channel.
* Templates are for personal use only. If you would like to share the file, please share the link to this post instead of sharing the file directly. Thank you.
You can use any pattern papers or graphics to decorate your tags. These are the ones that I used to make mine:
Holiday Frosting Background Papers
Merriment SVG (must have Silhouette Studio Designer Edition to use)
Simple Frames SVG (must have Silhouette Studio Designer Edition to use)
LD Petticoat Black

Thanks for the template! You are making me seriously consider getting a Cameo just for the software. I really want to use graphics without the program lagging and I just watched you use a normal sized paper with no problem in silhouette studio! I can't do that in MTC! Thanks again!

Thank you, again, for the tutorial and the cute cut file! You're awesome!!! ~ Doris
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Jin, I'd love to try these!
ReplyDeleteHiya Jin
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the great tutorial, especially showing how you drag and drop - I never think to do it. Also, I tried uploading paper from my own files and had difficuly in doing it, you made it look so easy. In principle - I am able to do everything you just did - but with out the dragging and dropping bit!!! I know I need to form habits to remember to do certain things faster - however, I noticed something I do that you don't; you right clicked to bring up the menu to ungroup and group - I use the little icons in the bottom left corner... also here are shortcuts to weld, offset, select all and deselect. It's funny how we all use different things isn't it.
Anyway, thank you so much for the bottle tags also. I really enjoyed reading about your little trip to the soda company and seeing all the brightly coloured bottles. In the UK, we refer to soda as 'pop, or fizzy pop'... probably because of the bubbles.
Hugs
