Guest Designer Day: Super Joy's K-cup Gift Box.

----------------- This is a pre-scheduled post.-----------------------

Today is day 5 of our Disney Cruise vacation and we are making our stop at Cabo San Lucas! While I'm out here with no internet access, my super friend, Super Joy has agreed to help me entertain you. So sit back and see how Super Joy cleverly transformed a cupcake box into a super cool K-cup gift box.

Hi everybody! I'm so honored that my friend, Jin, asked me to Guest Post on her great blog. Jin is so talented. I really admire every piece of art she creates. Don't you love her color choices and design? Her creations always impress and thrill me. Well, since Jin's away today you're going to have to put up with me. LOL! Before I get started, let's all wish Jin a super time on her trip. Ok? Now everyone, on the count of three. 1 ... 2... 3... "HAVE A SUPER TIME, JIN!!"

And now on to the project...

I used Lori Whitlock's cupcake box to create this project. I did make some alterations to it though. I thought it would be nice to be able to share a favorite K-cup (used in Keurigs and other coffee makers) with an office mate, friend or even someone who lives in your home that never gets the really good coffee because you hide it. Did I just say that? LOL!

Both the inside and outside of the box was created using the Silhouette Cameo’s print and cut feature. I used paper patterns that I bought in the Silhouette store, printed them using my printer and then let the Cameo do it’s cutting magic. The outside of the box was cut using a printer that can print 12x12 or larger. Previously, I made this box and didn't have a printer that big so I just used paper that I had on hand. You can do that too! There's no real need to print this paper, I just wanted to. Here's a link to another Kcup box I made that I decorated for Christmas: http://joyslife.com/blog-hop/

I did a little inking to the sides of the tag I punched out. I'm using Joy's Life You're So Punny Stamps to create the "A Whole Latte Love" tag. In the main photo you can see hearts I punched out using simple nesting punches. I used Joy's Life All Around Sentiments stamps to create the "Love You" sentiment.

Simply fold on the perforated lines, glue the tabs and you've got a box!

Slip the coffee/gift card part inside the box and you're good to go.

I created this border from an image that came with my Cameo. I duplicated the border, welded it and filled it with the heart pattern that I used inside the box. Take THAT border hand punches!! HA! After printing and cutting the border, I just wrapped it around my box and gently folded the sides so it would fit. I used a leftover piece of border to give the tag a bit more of a showcase.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Thank you for having me over for a visit, Jin!

Super Hugs,
Joy
