I had an AH-HA! moment this morning. It happened while I was sitting at the breakfast table, listening to my youngest child chit chat with her sister who was at home, thanks to a fever. My brilliant idea had nothing to do with whatever they were talking about. It is a strange kind of wonderful when the bulb inside the still sleeping head lit up for no reason at all.
"I KNOW what I am going to do!"
I think I might have startled the kids a little when I yelled. They stopped chatting, looked up at me, and then promptly continued trading stories of their adventures in the land of School as though my outburst never happened. I was a bit disappointed at their lack of interest but a part of me was secretly relieved because their disinterest only meant that they wouldn't be hovering around me as I whip up my magic in the craft room.
Except that my magic didn't quite happen as easily as I thought it would today.
I made the mistake of trying a feature on Make-the-Cut that I have never tried before, without first reading up on the tool. An unfortunate miscalculation led me to squander whatever crafting time I had. By the time I had actually completed what I had set out to do, the sun had set and the kids have gone to bed. No one but me left to admire my project. *sniff*
Now, before you think I am going to leave you with nothing to look at today, let me offer you this:
Now, don't you turn your nose up at that because what you are looking at, my friend, is my ah-ah! moment, my Eureka!, my moment of brilliance that made my kids so speechless that all they could muster was a loud chuckle and an amused "Ma-mie!!".
"So what the heck is that?", you say. Well, why don't YOU tell me what YOU think that is? Leave a comment below and tell me what I had made. What do YOU think is the finished project after I have put those pieces together?
I will pick a random winner to win a $10 Lettering Delights gift certificate. The correct answer will not result in a higher chance of winning so please feel free to guess freely. You can make more than one guess but no more than 3 guesses per person please.
The winner will be announced when I reveal my kiddie project on Friday.
Good luck! :-)
p.s. If you don't want to guess, you can still play along. Just say "I have no clue but I still want to win the gc!" to put in your entry. ;-)
Your post is sooo funny! I can totally relate to that sometimes! So.. I stared at this for a while, and I also had an A-HA moment! My guess would have to be one of those "Pin the tail on the donkey" game, but maybe instead it's a pumpkin? That would be soo cute - may have to steal that idea if that's what it is! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think its some type of banner or a mask?
ReplyDeletekacee
Well I see what looks like one of the monsters in the Monster Light set but the ribbon and poka dots are throwing me off. A huge Monster hanging decoration?? I'm sure whatever it is it's crazy crafty.
ReplyDeletebeyondprincess.blogspot.com
Those orange print outs look like that orange monster from your earlier post on LD's Monster Lights set..and that polka dot thingy is a bikini? So its gonna be an orange monster in a polka dot bikini for Halloween??
ReplyDeleteI think it's a halloween mask. please email me not at my gmail addy, but you can reach me on my facebook message pm. or at my other email addy at home on earthlink if I win! I hardly ever use my G.Mail... thanks, hope your project is what you want, but whatever, it will be a winner!
ReplyDeleteWell, I really have no idea what it is if not a mask.. how about a Fall colored polka dot snowman!
ReplyDeleteLast of my three comments.. you chose nice colors for this project, Jin Yong, so very Fall/Halloween.. colors I love that are very warm.. I want to see what this is.. thanks for the contest!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you need to piece together the orange monster from the monster light set to make it into a big wall hangng. The polka dot piece with ribbon is to blindfold the person who has to place the nose on the monster!?
ReplyDeleteI think it is possibly a LD monster mask??
ReplyDeleteI think it could be a pumpkin pinata for halloween :)
ReplyDeleteWe are not so big on Halloween over here in the uk...especially as my kids are all grown, so I may be at a disadvantage here. I think it is a monster trick or treat goody holder???....in a polkadot bra top??????
ReplyDeleteA game where you're blindfolded, then have to try and put the pieces of the monster in the right order?
ReplyDeleteA mask for one of your children's costume
ReplyDeleteLove to read your funny posts! Starts my day off with a smile.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is a Halloween mask or decoration.

I love the papers - I'm going to have to say a mask. I can't wait to see what it is!
ReplyDeleteThough I think it's likely a mask, I also agree I immediately thought "teeny weenie orange polkadot bikini" maybe a witch is heading to the beach? hehee Either way can't wait to see!
ReplyDeleteI am clueless, but I can tell that it is a print n cut. Can't wait to see the finished project.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks like a bikini and a monster or a sleep mask for a very tiredand deserving mummy after a creative catastrophe.
ReplyDeleteDecorations to make a jack 'o lantern without hurting the pumpkin....lol
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see.
Crystal
I think you used the tile feature in MTC and made a big decoration for your door. I'd love to know more about this feature.
ReplyDeletei guess from reading all the post about breast cancer awareness they have me thinking along that line. i'm going to say that it is a Mrs Franenstien and the orange polka dot piece with ribbon in it is her swimsuit -- lol
ReplyDeleteLisa G
It looks like you are using the monsters from the light switch to make a kids mask. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteIt's either a mask of some sort or a pin the whatever on the monster game.
ReplyDeleteYou are so very clever and I'm always inspired by what you create, so I can't wait to hear for sure what it really is!
Thanks for the opportunity to win a gc. *Ü*
I'm guessing that it is a mask. Can't wait to see it no matter what it is.

It looks like the light switch monster set, so Is it a monster to put around a doorway, with the area for the light switch as the actual doorway itself, to walk through? I think you are still disappointed that you don't have the right light switches... Can't wait to see what you're creating!
ReplyDeleteKaren kbrig@ptd.net
No idea, but it's gonna be good.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny! I was laughing the whole time I read your post. Can't wait to see what it is. Gwen
ReplyDeleteI will guess it will be some sort of box, maybe?!
ReplyDeleteReally I have no idea but it looks cute!
ReplyDeleteTotally relating to you post, Jin! ;) I'm going to guess that it's an owl mask. It could be a box of donuts and coffee for us to share though, so I'm holding that as my second guess. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou Rock,
~Joy~
pin the part on the monster....lol
ReplyDeleteI think it is a monster wearing a bikini
ReplyDeleteA Halloween pinata w/ mask.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, a banner? Themed of course! :) Usually I craft at night so there isn't anyone awake to like my new project anyway. Well, I guess it's true when I'm not in a funk (like I've been for a long long time!) ;(
ReplyDeleteHahaha! A front door pin-up of Mrs Frankenstein in a polka dot bikini would totally make my day! LOL
ReplyDelete:) Can't wait to see what it is!
I think it is a fun game for the kids to play!
ReplyDeletehperks24 at yahoo dot com
I"m guessing something with a blindfold too--a pinning game
ReplyDeleteMaybe you're assembling kites. Yeah didn't think so, but could be fun.
ReplyDeleteI think you are making an Owl mask for Halloween. If not I would still love to win the gift card
ReplyDeleteI am guessing some kind of game like pin the tail on the donkey but with a Halloween Monster theme. Excited to see what it is! you just make me giggle every time I read your posts!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Halloween costume made out of paper! Ok, I have no idea, but I love the ribbon! : )
ReplyDeleteLooks like a Halloween Easter Egg to me. See, this is why I look at your blog for idea. Left on my own, it wouldn't be pretty LOL.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a mask.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe a banner because of the ribbon.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything else it could be, but I would love the gift card.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a gift box for sleepovers - with a sleep mask?
ReplyDeleteRuth

ReplyDeleteScrappy hugs,
Amanda :0)
Pin the nose on the monster! I love that orange monster!
ReplyDeleteI have to say the game is the only thing I really think it could be. I'm guessing you used the tiling feature in MTC. I would love a tutorial!
ReplyDeleteLast one! I love your paper choice. Too fun. and thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteAn owl mask for Halloween, a hula girl top, a blindfold for a game, I really don't know, but love your post and couldn't resist.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was some kind of goody box, but I guess it could be a game of pinning the eye on the monster. I don't really know but can't wait to see what it is on Friday. And would really like the chance at the gc. tfs
ReplyDelete-angie
angiehbug@yahoo.com
Its a halloween monster mask.
ReplyDeleteYou redesigned the light plates for your wide button switch!!! Now you can have the monsters on your switches too!!
ReplyDeleteSometype of mask or banner. Can't wait to see.
ReplyDeletehmmm... maybe some kind of tiling feature where you'll being putting up a big poster. Like "Pin the tail on the Donkey". Maybe pin the tail on a monster? That's my final answer... lol.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the idea of pin the nose on the monster! I was going to say you're making a disposable costume.
ReplyDelete~LA
Behind the polk dots it almost looks like an owl. The ribboned polka dots looks like a bikini top or an eyemask.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking it's a monster mask for the kiddies.
ReplyDeleteI think it will be a halloween costume or mask or both for the children
ReplyDeleteA Halloween bikini! :)

My first guess would have to be a mask.
ReplyDeletekdc79@comcast.net
My second guess would have to be a pumpkin in a polka dot costume.
ReplyDeletekdc79@comcast.net
My last guess is some type of Halloween game. Can't wait to see the final poduct:)
ReplyDeletemy guess is a scare crow or possibly a monster??
ReplyDelete-jamie
babyblueangel_30@Yahoo.com
I love reading your posts! My guess is you used the tiling feature in mtc to make an extra large monster using the monster lights cut-its. The mask is to play pin the nose on the monster.
ReplyDeletei think youre making halloween party masks! is everyone going to a fancy secret ball? :)

Hi Jin, I've had those moments, but they come far and in between LOL. I think you are making one of those masks to cover up the sun so you can sleep?

I think it's a box decorated with that polka dot paper
ReplyDeleteI think it's a Halloween Mask! Whatever it turns out to be, I know it will be oozing with FUN & CREATIVITY!
ReplyDelete(Tessa at 7andersont@gmail.com)
hmmmm, I have been putting a lot of thought into "What is she up to?" Then I was thinking, is that polka dot paper suppose to be folded and not lay flat?
ReplyDeleteIs it a animal? I don't think that's what it is. I went on Lettering Delights site to get ideas, but didn't help. I bet when we see your project put together, we will all say "duh" I should of thought of it.
Looks like some kind of mask. Possibly a sleep mask but if made of paper, probably not.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a monster mask.

I first thought banner, and then I thought mask, but now I have NO idea! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea, but I am going to guess, it looks kinda like a bra...lol
ReplyDeleteiluvkatie74atyahoodotcom
I first thought it was like a bikini top! but maybe its along the lines of a blind fold..
ReplyDeletespunkycrayon at yahoo dot com
I can see I am not too original in my guess, but it does look as if there is a mask in the making and possibly a game or party boxes. In any case, it is always fun to see what you have come up with and then to adapt (or unabashedly copy) for my own needs.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fall pinata with a mask of some sort? Possible a pin the tail or nose on the pumkin game with a mask?
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! Not sure what it is, but whatever it might be, I'm sure it'll be a crowd pleaser! Is it a mask? Wonder what kind?... can't wait till you reveal!
ReplyDeleteWell, it looks like some kind of blindfold. Maybe to pin something on a monster. In any case would still love to win :<)
ReplyDeleteI think it is a mask....although I like the idea of a monster in a tiny weeny polka dot bikini! neldacnm at yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI don't know but maybe something with a pumpkin face.
ReplyDeletepin something on a pumpkin game?
ReplyDeleteconley25 at aol.com
My guess is a monster mask for Halloween
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing its a type of "pin the tail on the donkey" game only with something Halloween. Can't wait to see what you came up with!
ReplyDeleteolivejuicelulu@hotmail.com
What a great post!! My first thought was a halloween mask but since the polka dots piece looks more like a blindfold or bikini top that I threw that thought out the window. It looks like you used mtc's tiling feature (one feature I haven't tried out yet) so I have to go along with the crowd and say a monster in a bikini or a pin the part on the monster game. Other than that I haven't a clue, lol. Thanks for the chance to win a LD gc and I can't wait for the project reveal!!
ReplyDelete(((hugs)))
Jody
I'm guessing a Halloween tab card. The ribbon would pull out a surprise Halloween message. Oh, I wish I had an MTC template for that!
ReplyDeleteI think it is a "pin the teeth on the monster" wearing a polka dot paper blind fold game!
ReplyDeleterebecca-jacobs@comcast.net
