  5. That was the BEST review I've ever read. To me, that sums up everything! So glad I invested in a little Silhouette as well.

  6. Great review - I'm happy with my cougar, but the Silhouette would probably have suited me fine as I am also just a card maker and although I bought a blade to cut chipboard, I've only used it once. I have occasionally cut over the size the silhouette is capable of, but possibly not enough to make it worth the extra pennnies (sssh, don't tell my husband!), on the other hand, the Black Cat forum is soooo marvellous that I think that's worth the entry price alone. If you're a scrapbooker I guess the silhouette will be too small, but for card makers only....

  7. Very cute review!! Now I'm glad I bought the silhouette right after you started telling us about it!

  8. Very cute review Jin. Makes me feel better about my decision to go ahead and get the SIL and keep saving up for a larger cutter.

  9. Jin, great review. Seems like we all now know what machine is your favorite what are you going to do with the others?

I really like the Silhouette too! Great little machine but even though I thought I was a card maker I always seem to have to cut a full 12".

Keep up the good work and as always, I love your site.

  11. As always, you are sooooo creative. Love, love, love this review! I may still get a Lynx or other larger cutter that does chipboard down the road. (By then they may have a Silhouette with those features!) My Silhouette SD has arrived but I haven't finished my "chores" so I can't play with it yet! (Soon, very soon!) Thanks again for your phenomenal reviews!

  14. Oh no - I think you love your Silhouette as much as I do!

Great post - I love your humor!

  15. LOVE this review! I am glad I bought myself a silhouette because there is no way I could afford a lynx/gazelle whatever... plus at that size it literally would not fit in my apartment. Glad to know I made a good choice! Thank you so much!

  19. My laugh of today. Spoke with someone about 12" Silhouette....not in the making anytime soon, and not this year. Decisions decisions....love both of them. You are very entertaining and informative. Thanks again.

  21. Jin,

I love your website, your wonderful talent and your great sense of humor. Very refreshing. I really appreciate all your efforts, designs and reviews. Keep up the great work. I bought the Silhoutte SD based on your comments because you think like I do, as an educated consumer who wants to offer honest opinions. Thank you. I don't have a profile account, but I'm Sheryl in Florida.

  23. Oh my heck, this is so creative and funny! I love all those stinkin' cute pics of your machines! Way to tell a story!

  24. Jin -

You did not think this through. Gazzy and cricut owners will not be buying any LD through you. You insulted them. You cut off customers to yourself and possibly LD as you represent the company. You are definitely entitled to your opinion, but it could have been more tactfully expressed, so you do not turn off potential customers. This is your loss. Next time, think again about what you do.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jin, you did not insult me as a Gazzy owner. I admit it was sad to see it in the garbage but I am adult enough (just enough) to know that you just didn't like yours. Does that mean I have to hate mine too? No, of course not! Does that mean I have to buy a Lynx or Silhouette just because you liked yours? No!

While I wish you would have loved yours because I do mine, I realize you two just didn't play nice together. Every one is different! I understand that and so should anyone else reading. Yes, it's sad when someone doesn't like something that you personally do, it's our human nature to be like that. I hope it doesn't tick off any Gazelle or Cricut owners because of your opinion. I think that would be silly on their part and not your fault.

    ReplyDelete
  26. LOL, you are so funny! I'm a lover of my Cricut Expression but to each their own, we're all made differently just like our cutters. Anonymous needs to lighten up, why so serious? Jin if your Lynx wants to runaway, I have a nice sunny room it can live in ;-) LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh bring that lynx out of the basement! I have a nice sunny craft room for it! I am so tired of my Cricut that won't cut chipboard without making horrendous noises! Thanks for a good laugh:)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Loved your post today! The last one....pricless!

  29. Becki and Paula -

I do not mean to be so serious sounding, but the fact is Jin is selling LD though this website. The first rule of selling is to not insult potential customers. While I myself do not take any offence, and I would defend to death Jin's right to freedom of speech, she is trying to attract customers to purchases of LD from her website. I was just pointing out that not everyone will view this as a funny post, and in fact, some people might be turned off and she might lose customers. That was all I was trying to say.

  30. LOL - Jin, that cracked me up!!! :)

I have been thinking about getting a silhouette for a while now... it's going to be my next cutter! :)

  31. Jin- LOVE this! I had just bought a Silhouette when I found ur site and was curious as to what u thought about these other machines. U spent so much time and money and io loved all of it. I am like many others who appreciate honest reviews of products.
Honestly, most of the machines with the exception of the Cricut Machines and the Silhouette SD are just plain eye sores to me. The Lynx is the most hideous of all! It looks like something from a commercial machine shop- Lynx owners- don't hate me. It's just my opinion. It seems like way mire machine than I would ever need and those wheels and the online-offline thing would drive me nuts.
As for cutting 12" with a Silhouette- the main thing I would want the 12" format for is borders. I just take the border and make it 12", reposition it on the mat and cut!!!! Voila-12" border! I have an expression that can cut chipboard that I hardly ever use. Mostly for album covers. I prefer manufactured chipboard shapes anyway. I also have a sizzix big shot and dies to cut chipboard. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Silhouette SD-best machine for me! Again thank u for being honest. Now what would be great is if Sil Studio software could cut svg's! I have no desire to try and master SCAL (on a Mac).

  32. OMG!!! I couldnt stop scrolling, I LOVED IT! You are too funny.

  35. Jin....I LOVE the review! It is OVER THE TOP funny! Freedom of speech is right. If Dawn and I who SELL the Lynx are not offended no one should be. :-) We all know there is a machine for everyone! We don't expect nor deserve the entire cutting market..but we LOVE the company we keep with the other cutters and their owners so I am going to give a HUGE plug for our forum. Although it is called blackcatus.com it is for all who choose to become a part of our family! We have fun, we welcome all cutters and all software and we share with all and are kind to eveybody! Come on over! :-)

  36. Hi Jin, i'm reading all your posts about the machines, because i can´t make a decision.
i found a big difference between you and me, you only cut paper/card and i cut a lot of fabrics so the silhouette isn't the best for me (to cut fabrics it need some kind of special papel - 7,99$ - that is iron on the fabric, so i would have spend a lot of money and have to iron...)
That is my first criterion, but i others: no cartrdiges, i've to be able to make my drawings, emboss and engrave.
i found this review (no so brilliant as yours, but is more wide - 10 machines - it might help others indecised like me: http://die-cutting-machines-review.toptenreviews.com/
    QUESTIONS:
    1. Linx vs Cougar, what are the differences?
    2. what do you think about the Pazzles?
Please help me, i'm sell wedding/parties stuff and kneed a machine really quickly.
P.S. sorry about the engish but i'm from Portugal and it's a bit rusty.

  37. Forget the first question i found another post on your blog about that, sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  38. OKay I don't know how I missed this. I hate seeing the poor lynx in the basement because I know it's amazing machine but I have to say I didn't think it would be for you and I LOVE the review.LMBO

I don't think I"ve ever seen much from you except Print and cut so I figured you'd be stuck on the silhouette and that's GREAT as well!!!!!!! Whatever works and makes you happy honey!!!!! If I didn't have pnc figured out perfect with my cougar I would probably want one to!!!!!

Thank you so much for the great laugh. Crack me up!!!!!!! LOL

  39. Jin,

I just saw this. OMG! I laughed so hard. What's even funnier I just packed the Cricut and Gazelle away and they kind of look like that, ROFL! I love my Silhouette too. I don't think I need a big large machine the size of me to cut on, ROFL!

  40. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD!!

I kept closing my Amazon window every time it would ask me to confirm my order. I know overstock has the SIL SD cheaper but I am buying it with survey and checkpoints credits for Amazon GCs anyways.

I am sooo glad to have found your blog, it is on my favorites now and I will keep following you from now on.

Thank you very much for your honest opinion.

BTW, I make cards too so I am glad the SIL will be right down my alley.

  41. YOU are the best! I've been on the fence with ALL the cutters but your honesty and your blog has sold me on not only the SD but on die cuts. I'm a reader for life. Thank you so much for doing what you do :)
