Joy's Life Design Team Thursday: You Are A Treasure

Hidden inside this treasure chest is a secret message....

Ta-da! "You Are A Treasure!"LOL!

The sentiment is from Joy's You're So Punny stamp set. The treasure chest is from Lettering Delights' Aye Matey SVG set. It's the last file in the set and I think that it makes a perfect favor for a pirate party. I used Make-the-Cut to cut out the box and embossed it with the Tim Holtz Woodgrain Embossing Folder.

  1. Looks great!
To use LD do I have to have MTC or SCAL?

  2. Thanks, Christine. To use LD SVGs you would need a non-provo craft cutter (i.e. not a Cricut) and MTC or SCAL. If you are a card maker and have no need to cut wider than 8" and do not cut chipboard, I highly recommend the Silhouette SD. To see what cutters are compatible with MTC, just go to this link:

  3. I just LOVE this set!!! I bought them along with a whole bunch of other sets during Dollar Days. I did the decorations for my nephew's Pirate Party this past weekend (he turned 5). I used brown poster board to cut out the treasure box & one of the ships for centerpieces. I cut a slit on the base of the boat & used half of a one inch circle also with a slit in the center of it to prop the boat up. I used 2 half circles at the front & back of the base of the boat & it held very nicely! I used many other designs in this set for favor bags & other decorations. I JUST LOVE LD!!!

  5. Great, now I want chocolate.

Wow, I didn't know that was in that set. I really need to pay better attention to the sets I buy.
