Further info on the LD Subscriptions {plus a sneak peek of the new LD site!}

http://interneka.com/affiliate/AIDLink.php?link=www.letteringdelights.com/searchsite_detail.php?id=3124&AID=39954

Today is the last day to get the LD Subscription but it seems like many folks still have questions about the promotion. I have been emailing back and forth with LD and trying to get some of the confusion cleared up. In order to help you make a more informed purchase decision, I am posting here some further info regarding the offer.

Downloads for the Graphics, Cut Its, or the Lettering Product subscription are limited to $10/product/day.

Downloads for the Combo sub is limited to $15/day. (i.e. You can use get $15 worth of cut sets, or $15 on lettering, or $15 on printables or divide the $15 up. ).

The new LD site will only allow for 1 subscription. If you want to buy 2, you must have 2 LD accounts.

You must claim your $10 (or $15 for the Combo sub) download limit everyday because the credits do not rollover.

The subscription does not include third party artist licensed content. For example, files designed by Sheri McCulley, Nancy Kubo, Patricia Zapata are excluded from the subscription.

The files that you get from the subscription will not be kept in the library. At the time of this post, I am still trying to find out how much time you will get to download the files. I would recommend that you download the files as soon as you get them just to be on the safe side.    (You will have 24 hours to download the file. Please see updated info at the end of this post. )

The Subscriptions will only work on the new site but it will give you access to the LD products that are sold before the new site is launched, as well as any new products as they are released.

All subscriptions will start when the new site is launched and will expire 6 months after.

If you use the MayFlowers coupon, you will get an additional 10% off the price of the subscriptions! The Combo subscription costs only $89.96 with the discount!

Here is some further information about the new LD site.

The new "My Library" will be called "My Downloads". All the files that you currently have in your library now will be transferred to the new site.

The new site will have the same designs that are available on the current site, and LD will continue to add the same amount of new content to it as they usually do.

On the new site, you can continue to purchase the sets individually or you can access the files via the subscription.

The new site will also utilize a point system to reflect the price of the product. For example, a $5 Cut It set will cost 5 points, regardless of whether it is on sale or not.

Here is a sneak peek at how the new LD site will look like:

Edit:
I updated the screenshot of the new LD site to highlight the new point system that LD will be introducing.

2nd Edit:
I've just received more info and so I'm adding it here:

- The download window is 24 hours.  Once you have selected a file to use your points on, the clock starts ticking! The set that you picked will show up in your library for 24 hours and once that passes, you will not be able to see it there anymore.

- Each subscriber is given 10 points/day which is the equivalent of $10, i.e. basically a $1 - 1 point conversion.

- Points are consistent and independent of sale prices.

- The checkout process is independent of the point system and subscription system.  If there is a great bundle on sale that you want, it will make sense to buy it rather then to use your subscription points.
LD gave me the following example,

"If something was on sale for $1.50 and is actually worth $6, they might choose to not use download credits on it.  Freebies will have a point system attached to them by default too because they do not stay free.  It would be silly for someone to use their points to get a freebie.  Instead they need to go through the checkout system like we currently do."

- Coupons can't apply to points.

  1. Thanks for the information, Jin. Do you think the prices for cut its will really be $4 for only four images?

    1. Nah. That's actually for the Spun Cotton Graphics set. If you click HERE you can see that the set actually includes 12 images. LD sent that screenshot to me as an example of how the point system would look like. That's all. :)

  2. Ah so that is why nobody responded when I asked over on LD blog abut sale prices and using coupons with subscription. I wish I had known that before I bought a subscription.

  3. So are "Rewards Points" and "Subscription Points" the same thing?

    1. I don't mind LD's point system for the subscription, but I don't like having to download daily. I don't like that the Silhouette Store's monthly credits expire after 60 days either, but at least I can use them when I have time to sit down on a weekend or late night and browse their designs or bank them for their half-off sales. It also kind of stinks because it sounds like LD's subscription points are stagnant rather than reflecting current sales pricing, like Dollar Days. I went through my Order History to see how much I've been spending and decided to give the Combo Subscription a try for 6 months just to have a comparison.

    2. I'm sorry. I should also have written earlier: Thank you for the updates and trying to keep everyone informed! I love your blog, gallery and tutorials!

    3. Personally I don't like the idea of a daily download requirement either. I already have a lot on my daily to-do list and I really don't want to add one more thing to it if I don't have it. I prefer shopping at my leisure, know what I mean?

  4. Thank you for the clarification. Now, this brings up new concerns! I already purchased the $45.00 subscription (paying $37.46 using a discount code from a prior purchase) with the assumption I could purchase two cut sets a day. I wonder if the new price for cut-sets will be $6.00, meaning I can only download one set a day. (I am worried this will be the case, as the newest cut set is priced at $6.00, and they mentioned $6.00 as a product value in the example above.) I know I will still get my money's worth even if I can only purchase one download a day, but I will feel a slight amount of ill will because of this. If the new prices are $6.00 per cut set, I hope they will let us use the remaining $4.00 on graphics or lettering. It would make me very unhappy to have to "throw away" $4.00 of credit because there is nothing to spend it on. I love LD products, and want their business to be successful, but they may have angry customers to deal with after the new site launches... Reading posts from customers, it seems people are so confused, and I do not understand why they have not been more proactive in answering questions as they are posed. (Especially since the offer is not available after the new site launches.) Can't wait to see the launch tomorrow, and hoping everything goes well!

    1. I was told that they are not raising prices. The $6 was just a number that they used to illustrate that sometimes it is better to purchase a set than to use the credit points from the subscription. If you look at their current site, even though the bulk of the Cut Its are priced at $5, there are others that are $1, $2, $3, $4, and $6. For example, Dazzle Dolls, Old School, Millions of Mums, Fiesta Photo Props, just to name a few, are $6 each. Animal Bags and Boxes is a fairly old set and that one is $7! Btw, there are also several older graphic sets that costs $6 too. One more thing, I don't think that the new site will be up tomorrow. I think they are shooting for Thursday but who knows?! They may shift that date if they find more kinks to work out. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they launch sooner rather than later though. I'm excited to see their new page! :-)

    2. Thank you! That is a relief to hear! I thought the new site was scheduled to launch tomorrow. Glad to know it may be a few days, so I am not obsessed with refreshing my browser every two minutes!

  5. Jin does the points or dollar amount towards the daily limit of $15 dollars really count at full value even if on sale? So they will run two separate prices while you spend your $99.00 investment discounted w/ your coupon if you use it of course), but run two prices for 6 months but can only use $15.00 a day at full price value? Isn't this just a way to get everyone to commit up front? then spend in addition on the sales items? Will they do away with the dollar sales and package discounts also during this 6 month period? These things make me question how well they are thought out and in who's favor really. Thanks for any clarification you have.

    1. LD will be utilizing a point-system for the subscription. So if you had bought the $99 combo sub, you will get 15 points to use everyday. Each LD set will have a point value and a dollar value. The points system is independent of the usual $ system so that sales and coupons will not have any impact/effect on the points.

  6. I wish LD had been a bit more upfront about all this...I'd actually purchased in the afternoon and wish I'd known all this then.

    1. Don't feel bad about the purchase, Suzy! It's actually a good deal. I think LD offered the promo with good intentions but they certainly could have worded the terms much better. The deal is really good for those folks who are new to LD and still building their collection because they can access both the old and future releases (excluding those by the licensed artists). The only thing that I don't like about it is that the subscriber have to commit to download the files everyday because I think that is a huge hassle. If you can remember to do your daily download, getting $1800 worth of files for less than $50 is quite a crazy deal.

  7. I love LD product too! But they are seriously testing my patience, since I purchased the subscription on 5/3 when they stated in the offer that the new site would be launching in "a few days." Now it's almost a week and a half later and I'm still waiting for the new site to go live. l don't begrudge them trying to make as much money on the subscription offer as possible, but I too wish they has been honest and upfront about the time frame it would take to actually access my subscription, especially since there were files I wanted to use for Mother's Day that I couldn't download without paying full price.

    1. I'm impatiently waiting for the site to launch too, Diana. I wish they could give us a definite launch date so I don't have to refresh the page like every 5 mins! :P

    2. Offer is over, new site is past due and I'm constantly refreshing too! Oh well, my immediate need is over, but I still can't wait to start downloading. And downloading. And downloading. And downloading... (actually 180 days of daily downloading ;)
