My 2013

Can you believe that 2013 is almost over? I was all Pinterest-crazy last year and so I started off 2013 with a promise that I would try to do less pinning and craft more instead. I think I achieved that goal.

Penguin from the Zebra Fun and Yellow Sun cut its set.

Here are the cards and projects that I put together this year. I made so much stuff that I actually did not get around to posting many of them on the blog. As much as I love to take photos of my cards, photoshoots can be time-consuming and sometimes I just want to get the thing over and done with. I tell myself all the time that I would go back and make the post for the project when I get a chance. All too often, I am so caught up with the next new card that I never post about the previously finished project. One such example is this balloon card, I used the Boom de yada cut it set to make it but I never got around to making a dedicated post about it. Even though the hybrid card (i.e. print-and-cut combined with traditional paper-piecing) was made from a 4th of July-themed cutting set, by using a different color scheme, you can easily make the card for any occasion.

Another card that I made but never even took a picture of, was the Fish Goes Blub notecard. I had just finished making it when I saw a brand new about-to-be-released LD set. I put that aside thinking that I would go back and post about it later but instead I went on to the next project and never looked back. I no longer have the card but I may remake it for a future blog post. In the meantime, I'd like to re-share these photos for those of you who may have missed them on my Facebook page. By the way, the fish is from the Bespectacled Stringbeans Cut It set.

Other things that I have excluded from the blog include the stuff that I make for my kids. This year I made A TON of tags, labels, and stickers for the girls. If you are interested in making stickers with your Silhouette Cameo, you may want to check out my tutorial for the how-to.

2014 is almost upon us and one of the things that I hope to do in the new year is to finish my project with at least a photo and a blog post before moving on to the next. After all, my blog was meant to be a record book of the cards that I've made and I don't want to leave any project out just because I am too busy catching up with new LD releases.

To see the corresponding posts for the projects below, just click on the thumbnails. You can also see these projects and those that I have made before 2013 in my UACT gallery or at my A Bunch of Cherries site.

Enjoy!

  6. Hi Jin! Well, I am amazed at all of the projects you do end up posting and blown away that you had so many more that you didn't have time to post! OMG!!! Such inspiration, I tell ya! ;D I, too, have learned a lot from your blog and tutorials. I pretty much keep all of your blog post (via email subscription) in either an Ínspiration' folder or 'Cameo Tutorial' folder so that I can reference back to it easily (and yes, I do that often!). This was such a great post, as with all of your others, with a year's recap! Thank you and happy new year!
