Jin's Give-Away #3!

It's the 3rd day of Jin's Give-Away week! Are you ready for more blog candy?

For the last two days, I have asked you to make a craft-related comment in order to enter in the give-aways. On Day 1, you told me about your favorite crafting tool, and on Day 2, you told me where you craft. Today let's talk about storage. Taking everything out of the craft room was quick and I took no time to do that at all and I am now at the point of putting things back. I'm finding it very challenging because there's a lot that I want to put back but I also want to do it so that all that stuff can be seen and are easily accessible. I have the habit of buying things and forgetting about them because I don't see them, so I was really happy when I found this Art Bin Store-In-Drawer Cabinet :

Image from artbin.com
There are thirty little drawers in the unit and I love that they are clear so that I can see what's inside. This will be perfect for storing all my embellishments!

When I was in Costco the other week, I picked up a few sets of these 12"x12" cases:

Set of 5 cases from Costco. $19.99 per set.
Each set of 5 costs $19.99 and are made by Creative Options. I had bought them because the colors look so pretty but I wasn't really sure what I could use these boxes for. So I turned to Facebook. Those of you who answered my question about them, I want to say a big "Thank you!"! You have given me so many good ideas of what I can do with these,  I may have to go back to the store to get more! For those of you who missed my question on Facebook, you can check out the thread on these boxes on my wall HERE. There are some very interesting suggestions.

And now, let's have another give-away!

Today, I'm giving away a....

Martha Stewart Crafts Scoring Board and Envelope Tool

Here's how to win:

Leave a comment here on the blog and tell me how you store your papers. Do you keep them in a box or just leave them on the floor? Do you use a paper rack or do you keep them in a cabinet?

**Please comment on this page only (and not Facebook) to be considered for today's giveaway.**

The terms of the give-away are the same as the past two days:

If you are not a follower of this blog or its Facebook page, you may enter this giveaway once.

If you are a follower of this blog or its Facebook page, you may enter 2 times. Just post your comment 2 times and mention in your 2nd comment that you are a follower of either this blog or the UnderACherryTree Facebook page.

International readers, please note: Since I am giving away physical items, I will only be able to ship the prizes within the United States. If you win but do not have a U.S. address, I will email a $5 Lettering Delights gift certificate to you as your prize and will draw another name for the physical prize.

Entries to this week's give-aways will close on Sunday, March 4 at 11:59pm PST. All winners of this week's give-aways will be picked by Random.org and will be announced on Monday, March 5.

Good Luck!

LD $2 Tuesday: St. Patty Fonts (reg. $6)

For those of you who are not on Facebook, this is LD's offer for today:

The 100-set Big Bang bundle is available only until midnight MST, tonight. There are only hours left to get the 100-set svg bundle for only 75 cents PER SET (with coupon). Click HERE to grab the Big Bang Cut Its Bundle before it's gone!

Jin's Give-Away #2 plus Last Day to get the Big Bang Bundle!

Thanks for playing along with me yesterday, everyone! It was fun to read about everyone's favorite crafting tool. I'm finally making some progress in my craft room re-org. I removed almost everything out of the room (again!) and found some things I forgot I bought. Seriously, when did I buy Tim Holtz's tissue tape dispenser and those rolls of tape? I really have to start buying only those supplies that I will actually use!

Before I show you today's give-away, let me just mention that today is the last day to get the 100-set (svg) Big Bang bundle for $100 or less with a coupon. If you have not seen this offer, click here to see why I think the Big Bang bundle is an amazing deal.

Now back to the give-away....

While emptying out the craft-room today, it was pretty obvious that I had gone overboard with the paper-buying. I'm running out of room to store my giant stack of 6"x6" paper pad and so today's give-away is for:

One Echo Park Springtime 6" x 6" paper pad
and
One Echo Park Be Mine 6" x 6" paper pad

Here's how to win:

Leave a comment here on the blog and tell me about your crafting space. Where do you craft? In your craft room or do you craft on the dining table like I used to (many years ago)?

The terms of the give-away are the same as yesterday:

Jin's Give-Away #1!

Re-organizing my craft room is a never-ending task. I recently emptied out the room with the intention of putting back only those supplies that I actually use. Of course that didn't happen because I had to start packing for my cruise and I ended up putting everything back.

In the course of shifting things in and out, I found a couple of things that I either have extras of, or will never use. You guys know how I love to hold give-aways and so instead of ebay or returning the stuff to the store, I'm going to give them to you!

I will be giving something away everyday this week and I'm going to start today's give-away with.....

The Sew Easy Set by We R Memory Keepers.

The winner will receive

1 Sew Easy rotary piercer tool with straight piercer head and needle
1 additional Zig Zag piercing head
8" x 13" piercing mat (I forgot to include it in the photo above)
1 card of red floss
a pack of 4 needles

Basically, everything that you need to play with this kit. :-)

Here's how to win:

Leave a comment here on the blog and tell me what is your favorite crafting tool.

I really don't like to exclude anyone in my giveaway but I also want to be fair to my followers so please note that:

If you are not a follower of this blog or its Facebook page, you may enter this giveaway once.

If you are a follower of this blog or its Facebook page, you may enter 2 times. Just post your comment 2 times and mention in your 2nd comment that you are a follower of either this blog or the UnderACherryTree Facebook page.

International readers, please note: Since I am giving away physical items, I will only be able to ship the prizes within the United States. Jin's Give-Away Week starts tomorrow!

So you've heard me talk about re-organizing my craft room for a couple of weeks now. The craft room is not nearly where I want it to be yet but I have been finding things that I bought but never used. I promised you guys some weeks ago that I will be giving those goodies away. Well, I found so much I'm having a give-away all week long.

Jin's Give-Away Week starts on Monday, Feb 27. Check back tomorrow to see what I have in the box for you. :-)

OMG! The LD DEAL-OF-THE-YEAR is coming back!!

Remember last year when LD offered a 100-svg sets bundle for only $100? We thought that it was a one-time deal to celebrate LD's 100th svg but guess what? That offer is coming back!!

I've just received word that this year's 100-Cut Its bundle will be brand new** and will not contain any set that was included in last year's offer! Woohoo!! If you are new to Lettering Delights or do not have many LD Cut Its in your collection, you MUST get this deal! $100 Cut It sets for $100 or $1 per set! ONE DOLLAR! Considering that many of LD's Cut It sets include anything from 5 to 27 designs PER SET, we are talking about A WHOLE LOT of cut files here. For reference, last year's bundle contained over 1400 designs!!

The deal will happen at the end of the week and will only be available for a very limited time. Keep your eyes peeled on this blog. I will let you know as soon as I have even more details!

***This is a new bundle, as in, not the same as last year's but it is made up mostly from sets that are already on the site, plus a few that are new (includes a new St Patty's Day set!) ***

LD Wild Wednesday: Garden Showers $3-$4 (reg. $8)

Lettering Delights' 3D Teapot Cut It Set

Lettering Delights released several new sets on Tuesday including this 3D Teapot Cut It set.

The set comes with cut files for a 3D teapot, and a tea cup and saucer. Using Silhouette Studio Designer Edition, I imported and cut out all the layers with my Silhouette Cameo cutter.

It was easy to assemble the teapot and the cup BUT the layers for the floral designs are pretty intricate and come with teeny pieces.

I think I took as much time to assemble the flowers as I did to assemble the teapot and the teacup. Still, I think it was well worth the effort because now I have the cutest teapot and cup on display in the kitchen! By the way, the teapot also works great as a gift box. Just add treats! :-)

Most of the papers that I used for this project comes from the Lost & Found Union Square collection by My Mind's Eye. To see the other new releases by Lettering Delights, including this 3D Teapot, just click HERE.

LD $2 Mardi Gras Masks and FREEBIE

For the folks who are not on Facebook, this is what was just posted on the LD wall. LD is offering the Masquerade Masks SVG set for only $2 (reg. $4).

CLICK HERE or the image above to get your $2 Masquerade Masks SVGs.

LD is also giving away a freebie today but since it is a direct link from their page (and not to their webstore) I will not be posting the download link here. Instead, I am posting THIS LINK so that you may go to LD's Facebook page and get the download directly from there.

Party Lion -an Action Wobble card

Last year, my friend Ruthie of SeptemberNinth blog, sent me a pack of Action Wobble springs. Thanks, Ruthie! :-) I have been wanting to use it but never really got around to it. When I saw the lion from the Nancy's Buddies Cut Its, I realize that it was PERFECT for an Action Wobble project.

Using Make-the-Cut, I arranged all the elements of the card in a 4.25" x 5.5" rectangle. As I have mentioned, the lion is from Nancy's Buddies, while the birdie, the present and the party hat are from Nancy's Party. The grass is also from Nancy's Buddies. I modified a banner from the Banner Days SVG with the LD Little Piggy font. By the way, Banner Days is a FREE set that is added into your LD library when you open an account there. If you don't already have an account, click HERE to get one.

Once I finished the layout, I cut all the layers out with Make-the-Cut and my Silhouette Cameo.

All the cutouts were adhered together with glue and foam tape, except for the lion's head where I used an Action Wobble.

You may notice that the birdie was initially not included in my original design. It was added later when I saw room for it on the card.

The birdie measures only 1" wide and I flocked it with 2 shades of yellow.

I also changed my mind about how I wanted the banner to look. In fact, I even changed the "S" pennant into a " 'S " (with the apostrophe) so that I have enough room to add a "!" (exclamation mark) pennant.

For those of you who have not seen the Action Wobble in action, I made a short video for you. Please turn DOWN your volume before playing the video. I forgot I was recording with my camera and I was speaking too close to it so that I started off by sounding like I was yelling even though I wasn't. Sorry about that!

Enjoy!

In case you have not heard, the 12"x24" Silhouette Cameo cutting mat is now available at the Silhouette store. You can get it here.

p.s. I have no affiliation with ohmycrafts.com or with Silhouette America but I do like to share a good deal. :-)

It took me a while to get here...

It's no secret that I love Nancy Kubo's designs. From the first card that I made with her Create-A-Critter cartridge to making Pandee stories, I just can't get enough of her files. Nancy's designs are not only crazy adorable, the bold lines mean that they are easy to layer.

Using Nancy's latest release on the Lettering Delights website, I imported the turtle from the Nancy's Party Cut It set into the Silhouette Studio Designer Ed.

After arranging all the elements, I made a shaped card using the OFFSET and WELD tools, using the same method that I have demonstrated in my cupcake topper tutorial.

I used the fonts LD Mon Cherie and LD Cinch for the greeting and print-and-cut everything except the turtle.

To cut out the turtle, all I did was UNGROUP the svg and SET THE CUT STYLE to CUT. Next, I arranged the different layers on the virtual mat like this:

By placing the different colored papers on the Silhouette Cameo mat as I have arranged in the virtual mat, I managed to cut out all the layers in one pass. No loading and unloading the mat multiple times! Yes!

I adhered all the cutouts with glue and foam tape for added dimension. Some Stickles glitter glue add a touch of sparkle to the card.

Nancy Kubo's svgs makes card-making such a quick task that there really isn't any excuse for a late birthday greeting. Well, except for a procrastinator like me. :-P
